I obtained a PhD in Rehabilitation Sciences from the University of British in Canada. My research studies were accompanied by extensive travelling to the Middle East to collect data related to women health beliefs and behaviors. I launched a pilot diabetes education program that was based on the Harvard diabetes publications in Saudi women. I tailored the Harvard recommendations for diabetes to the Saudi Arabian context taking into account the cultural, social, and religious dimensions in Saudi Arabia.
My MA was in Professional Communication with International and Intercultural Concentration from Royal Roads University in Canada. My thesis was on the health communication experiences of Arab immigrants with the Canadian health system. My MA study was of a novel kind in the region of British Columbia in Canada.
